Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of characters, and a exciting storyline showcasing divine entities, fiends, and malevolent powers expanding in influence within the city.
Note: Spoilers for the third episode of the new season lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The third episode concluded with a major cliffhanger and revealed the premier party of characters who will branch out from the central cast to embark on their separate journey, separate from the additional parties.
This warrior group consists of Teor Pridesire (portrayed by the voice actor), Thimble (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Considering an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that having everyone at the same party would be impossible.
This explains, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, weaving together the personal journeys before branching into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Planners, and Seekers.
What Defines the Combat Party
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for adventurers who enjoy a traditionally charged fight-heavy gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might seem mismatched, but the developments of the third episode demonstrate why these five characters are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the party has a clear idea where to go next after a brutal opening clash with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, breaking into the hidden lair, striking the rogue, and stealing all the enchanted items to dispose of.
Casimir then paid off his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each member has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks retribution.
- Kattigan knows Timmony and cautions that it is a hostile location.
- Tyranny and The healer, having disobeyed his house’s orders to kill the fighter and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their reputation as important members in the influential clan could enable the team enter areas they usually can’t.
- Additionally, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now accompany him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are sought by the powers that govern the setting for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The rogue and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and Wicander defied the influential house and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the clan.
This results in them no alternative but to journey toward the remote area in pursuit of Casimir.
What’s Next?
Based on episode three’s Cooldown, we learn that the Soldiers table won’t be around the following episode, leaving the rest of the cast members to round up the Explorers and Planners groups.
Fans can anticipate learning which adventurers will be assigned to which table in the season’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on October 24.
